City Action Plan – Amsterdam Circulair 2020 – 2025
Amsterdam wants to be a circular city by 2050. A city where we reuse valuable materials and raw materials and do not produce waste. The production of new materials and goods causes raw materials to run out and is responsible for more than half of global CO2 emissions. In a circular city, we ensure that raw materials and materials are reused and not lost. Because we are fully committed to reuse, this also creates more local employment in the repair and processing sector. In addition, this change in consumption and production improves working conditions in low-wage countries and thus helps raise people’s living standards, both within city limits and beyond.
